Joe is the founder and owner of Zion Cannabis in downtown Portland, where he is setting a new standard in product safety and quality control by requiring advanced pesticide screening for all flower and concentrate products sold in his store.
Joe‘s background is in business management and law. As a local business and real estate attorney, Joe has helped hundreds of Oregon homeowners defend against illegal foreclosures by large financial institutions. A prolific writer, Joe has published scholarly articles on Oregon foreclosure law, international human trafficking policy, and the adverse environmental impacts from natural gas extraction methods. His 2012 article “Enforcing the Oregon Trust Deed Act” was cited by the Oregon Supreme Court in the landmark foreclosure decision Brandrup v. Recontrust. Joe regularly presents on topics ranging from real estate investment to cannabis economics and enjoys educating his customers about cannabis science.
